The Beach Boys - The Beach Boys Today! album
The Beach Boys Today! is the eighth studio album by the American rock band the Beach Boys, released on March 8, 1965. The album signaled a departure from their previous records with its orchestral approach, intimate subject matter, and abandonment of themes related to surfing, cars, or superficial love.

On their first album after Brian Wilson stopped touring with the group, The Beach Boys made a clean break with their fun-in-the-sun past. The mature, questioning first single, "When I Grow Up (To Be a Man)," sets Today!'s emotional tone, but it's the lovely string of ballads that showcase Wilson's ever-increasing melodic strength and self-confidence: "Please Let Me Wonder" and "She Knows Me Too Well" are among his finest songs. Elsewhere, the jubilant "Dance, Dance, Dance" proves that the innocent fun hadn't stopped
Surf/hot rod/beach themes were permanently retired in favor of late-adolescent, early-adult romance on this album, which included such decent outings in this vein as "She Knows Me Too Well," "Kiss Me Baby," and "In the Back of My Mind. The true gem is "Please Let Me Wonder," one of the group's most delicate mid-'60s works, with heartbreaking melodies and harmonies
20/20 is the 15th studio album by American rock band the Beach Boys, released on February 10, 1969. The LP was named for being their 20th overall album release. Much of it consists of outtakes from earlier albums. It reached number 3 on UK record charts and number 68 in the US. Brian Wilson was absent during most of the album's recording after admitting himself into a psychiatric hospital, requiring brothers Carl and Dennis to retrieve several outtakes he had recorded years earlier.
Sir, Help Me Ronda ( The Beach Boys - "Help Me, Ronda" - Original Mono LP - HQ ) which when released later as a 45 spelled Help Me Rhonda ( Help Me, Rhonda - The Beach Boys (with lyrics) made it all the way to 1 in early 65. I consider it to be the first great Beach Boys album, where Brian Wilson matured as an artist, and all of the songs except for the final (novelty) track are brilliant and wonderful. They are inspired and perfect.
About The Beach Boys Today! Today! marked a milestone in Brian Wilson’s progression as an arranger and as a producer of both individual tracks and entire albums. The album features advanced Wall of Sound production techniques, and is designed as a full artistic statement with two separate suites as opposed to a collection of singles. These ideas would come to full fruition the following year with Pet Sounds. The Beach Boys Today! Q&A.
