December 96. 1 track. English guitarist Rod Poole (1962-2007) debuted as a free improviser in the Oxford Improvisors' Cooperative in 1983. Upon relocating to Los Angeles in 1989, Poole converted to La Monte Young's and Tony Conrad's experiments with just intonation. His tours de force are the solo tabletop guitar improvisation in just intonation of The Death Adder (WIN, 1996) and the solo acoustic guitar improvisation in just intonation of December 96 (WIN, 1998).

96 Tears is the debut album by the American garage rock band ? and the Mysterians, released in 1966. It peaked at number 66 on Billboard's Pop Albums chart. The single "96 Tears" reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on October 29, prior to release of the album. The album and the single "96 Tears" were both on the charts for fifteen weeks, while the single "I Need Somebody" was on the charts for ten weeks.
