Symphony No. 47: Allegro non troppo. 5. The Age Of Gold - Suite, Op. 22A: Introduction. 6. 22A: Adagio. 7. 22A: Polka. And the Stokowski/CSO recording of the popular suite from "The Age OF Gold" is smartly played and very well recorded indeed. Back in the lp days it was the filler on a recording of the Shostakovich 6th Symphony - another gem that is bound to turn up outside the Big Box of Stokowski recordings RCA recently issued. The present issue is a bargain introduction to the music of Shostakovich, but those who know and love the music need this recording as well.
