The sharp left/right stereo on some of the tracks is extreme. For instance, when you play "The Lonely Bull", you will here the entire band in the right channel and Herb Alpert in the left channel. At first it seems that you're playing a faulty record, since you don't hear any audio coming from the left channel, but then, out of the blue, the trumpet of Alpert appears. An uncanny experience that's the same on some other tracks; when you play with your balance knob, you can either listen to drums and bass only in the right channel and Alpert's trumpet, sometimes combined with another instrument in the left channel. If you record both channels separately in your music production software, you can even, to a certain extent of course, remix tracks from the album.

What you are describing is NOT unique at all. Most records of this era were "pseudo-stereo".
