5013/85013 - Farewell to the Fox, Volume One - Tiny James and Everett Nourse at the Mighty Wurlitzer Gatefold cover. The Fox Theatre in San Francisco, which opened June 28, 1929, was a movie theater with over 4600 seats, located at 1350 Market Street. It was demolished shortly after it closed on February 16, 1963. Everett Norse and Tiny James were the last to play the organ there before the theater closed permanently

Everett Nourse was the first person I had ever heard on a theater organ. I was immediately captivated by the sound of the San Francisco Fox Theater Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ, and he was really the reason I got into playing theater organ. Soon I became acquainted with other famous organists such as "The Poet Of The Organ" -Jesse Crawford, Gaylord Carter and the incomparable George Wright. I had always wondered why there were never many recordings of the man who was the house organist at the San Francisco Fox for the last 19 years of the theaters life.
