Gilles Ragon stated his career in 1984 the early and Baroque music, performing and recording Médée by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Atys by Lully under the baton of William Christie, Acyone by Marais, Platée by Rameau with Marc Minkovski, Alceste by Luly and Platée conducted by Jean-Claude Malgoire or Armide by Lully with Philippe Herreweghe. Gilles Ragon performs with the same great facility the 19th century and contemporary repertories. In this way, he can be heard in the roles of Vincent in Mireille by Charles Gounod, Fritz in La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein and in Les Contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach (Bastille Opera 2001), in Lakmé by Léo Delibes with Nathalie Dessay and he is Le Chevalier des Grieux in Manon, in Avignon in 2002.

Bruno Boterf After studying Musicology and Art History at university, Bruno Boterf opted for a performing career and was soon in demand as a soloist, singing under leading conductors in programmes of sacred music by Bach, Handel, Monteverdi, Cavalli, Mozart, Rossini, etc. At the same time he was initiated into the mysteries of medieval music by Anne-Marie Deschamps and Marcel Peres while also performing contemporary music with the GroupeVocal de France, taking part in several productions with the ensemble 2E-EM and Radio France. His considerable interest in Renaissance and early Baroque music has led him to perform 16th and 17th century music both in duet programmes (A Doi Tenori with Gilles Ragon) and as a soloist with groups like Akademia, the Witches, Ensemble europeen William Byrd and La Fenice.

Frescobaldi, the winery that is world famous for being a leader in the production of fine Tuscan premium and high quality wines. From the collaboration between Frescobaldi and the Gorgona Penal Institute, a unique wine was born, produced by the island’s inmates. Keep in touch with frescobaldi.

Cantate e duetti, Pietoso nume arcier (duet). Quanto mai saria più bello. The two high countertenors have worked together a few times in projects with Les Arts Florissants, and in January 2011 they and William Christie performed an illuminating selection of Italian Baroque duetti da camera and cantatas (the title of the disc as merely ‘Duetti’ is misleading). Several duets are accompanied with sensitivity by three continuo players (cellist Jonathan Cohen, theorbist Elizabeth Kenny and Christie at the keyboard), but some music also features two violinists (Hiro Kurosaki and Catherine Girard).
