David Michael Tibet is the founder of the Hallucinatory Patripassianist rock group Current 93 as well as the new sphere, MYRNINEREST. Born in Malaysia in 1960, David has created a unique, highly influential and extraordinarily powerful body of work – spanning music, painting, poetry and translation.
Originally released in 1987 as an LP on the Maldoror label, it was reissued in 1989 on CD by Durtro. This reissue mistakenly contained an alternate version of "Great Black Time". In 2002, the album was again reissued on CD, containing both the alternate and the original LP version of "Great Black Time"
Only for completionists (0%). There's no such place as 'Bar Maldoror'' and it's not live. Live at Bar Maldoror' sounds like the tormented dead souls of people crying in frustration at being unable to die in peace. It's another of those Apocalyptic and eerie albums that Current 93 were masters at creating in the mid eighties. It's all a bit superfluous and unnecessary though. Ah well, at least my copy has the ultra creepy pumpkin head painting on the sleeve.
