Disc 1. Black Heart Inertia: The greatest hits compilation begins with this new song. This is an interesting choice for a starter, but it does have the new-Incubus style to it. The song doesn’t really stand out to me since background effects are non-existent except for the very end where there are faint wah-wah sounds. Brandon Boyd’s vocal performance is perfect as always and the song is pretty catchy with a cool guitar solo near the end so I’ll give this song a . /5. Monuments and Melodies is a great compilation album and an excellent way to see what Incubus is all about. A couple of filler tracks here and there but for the most part this is an excellent release and has some stellar (no pun intended) Incubus tracks. Recommended listens: - Neither of Us Can See - Midnight Swim - Punch Drunk - Pantomine.

Monuments & Melodies is an elliptical allusion to the hits and highlights contained within this 2009 retrospective, a double-disc set that's separated into a CD of singles and a CD of rarities. The first disc does its job efficiently, running through all but two of Incubus ' Billboard hits - the minor mainstream rock radio hits "Circles" and "Make a Move" are missing, but the non-charting single "Are You In?" is in its place - bookended by two strong new Brendan O'Brien productions, "Black Heart Inertia" and "Midnight Swim.
Monuments And Melodies (оригинал Incubus). My hands are trembling. And my eyes are on fire. This house is crumbling. Monuments to where I have been. And melodies to where I am going. You magnify my better half.
