Buddy Bregman – Louis Isidore Buddy Bregman was an American arranger, producer, and composer. He became Ethel Mermans personal arranger, a nephew of British-born American songwriter Jule Styne, Bregman was born in Chicago. He studied at UCLA and during his sophomore year arranged and conducted Jerry Leiber and Mike Stollers Bazoom for the Cheers, in 1955 he was appointed orchestra leader for the Gary Crosby Show on CBS radio. As one of Davis best-selling albums, Porgy and Bess has earned recognition as an album in orchestral jazz. Robert Gilbert of All About Jazz praised Porgy and Bess, describing it as one of great albums that Miles Davis recorded over his lifetime.
