David Bowie - Sound + Vision (Sampler) album
Sound + Vision is David Bowie's box set compilation released on Rykodisc in 1989. By the end of the 1980s, the rights to Bowie's pre-1983 catalogue originally issued by (Phillips/Mercury Records and RCA Records) reverted to Bowie and his former management company MainMan. Rykodisc had approached Bowie in 1988 to re-release albums on CD and Bowie agreed, and in September 1989 the Sound + Vision box set was released

Produced by Tony Visconti & David Bowie. Album Low. Sound and Vision Lyrics. Don't you wonder sometimes 'Bout sound and vision. Blue, blue, electric blue That's the colour of my room Where I will live Blue, blue Pale blinds drawn all day Nothing to do, nothing to say Blue, blue I will sit right down Waiting for the gift of sound and vision And I will sing, waiting for the gift of sound and vision Drifting into my solitude Over my head. About Sound and Vision
When the format was in its infancy, RCA had issued several of his classics, but those pressings were notoriously awful and were pulled from the market in 1985 when Bowie acquired the rights to the recordings. Sharp businessman that he is, he took the catalog to market, and after an intense bidding war, he chose to reissue his classic work through Rykodisc, an independent CD-only label that had earned acclaim for its work with Frank Zappa's catalog.
