Clan Of Xymox - Farewell album
Farewell (Album Version) Lyrics. All these helpless fallen angels Evading commonplace Dreading a thousand nameless evils In the dark shimmering rays. The one with all the intuition Knows now there’s nothing gained This cycle needs no repetition I simply move away. Farewell affectionate brothers You won’t see me again Farewell affectionate brothers You won’t hear me again. All in all, it’s all forgotten There’s beauty in decay Like the sun’s tears in heaven Calls back the castaway. Farewell affectionate brothers I won’t see you again Farewell affectionate brothers I cast my cares away Farewell. Affectionate brothers I won’t see you again.

riferendosi a Farewell, CD, Album, MET 293. Though Clan of Xymox have been around for quite a while, their 80's material was more geared towards gothic synthpop/new wave a la Cure. The end result is a brilliant combination of gothic synthpop with EBM. Some of the tracks are more dancy and utilize both styles, while some are more downtempo and morose, returning the band to their 80's roots.
There was a time, back in the mid-'80s, when the name Clan of Xymox was spoken in the same breath as those of Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance, bands that epitomized a sort of ethereal pre-goth genre that was simultaneously soothing and challenging, and that inspired thousands (but not millions) of British and American teenagers to wear black lipstick. Clan of Xymox never achieved the commercial success of Cocteau Twins or the critical success of Dead Can Dance, but unlike both of those bands, they're still making records.
Clan of Xymox is the debut studio album by Dutch dark wave band Clan of Xymox, released 1 July 1985 by 4AD. The album was produced by 4AD co-founder Ivo Watts-Russell and recorded at Palladium Studios in Edinburgh. The remixes included on the album ("A Day" and "Stranger") were mixed and produced by John Fryer at Blackwing Studios in London
