Amon Tobin - Permutation album
Permutation (Amon Tobin album). Permutation is the third studio album by Brazilian electronic music producer Amon Tobin and the second under his own name. It was released in 1998, just over a year after Bricolage. The album was a success for Tobin and found him playing sold-out shows at the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Knitting Factory in New York and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. He went on to release Supermodified in 2000.

Amon Tobin Brazilian-born Amon Tobin first emerged between 1994-1995 with a string of 12" singles on the small London-based record label 9Bar Records. The album that followed, Adventures In Foam, paved the way for a whole generation of electronic productions and prompted his signing to the prodigious Ninja Tune in 1996.
Permutation" brings Amon Tobin again into the jazz/electronic music scene with his unique sound that includes jazz, classical and jungle. This sophomore album keeps impressing the Ninja Tune fanbase, like his debut "Bricolage" did. Expect some dark and relaxing atmosphere while listening this experimental masterpiece. Its drum-n-bass moments are like drums on speed yet with that very special artistic touch. At the time of this release drum-n-bass was really in a funk and Amon showed us all there was and always is hope.

Now Permutation is an album for the nighttime. Whenever I listen to it I feel like I should be driving very fast in a very expensive car in the middle of the night with a cigarette burning in the ashtray (though I don’t smoke of course) and my bright lights blazing in front of me of course. This feeling especially starts to kick in during track number three known as Reanimator, a track that kicks your ass right at the two minute mark and makes you want to shake your head back and forth
