Coroner - Grin album

Size MP3 album: 1541 mb. | Size FLAC album: 1914 mb.

Grin is the fifth studio album by the Swiss thrash metal band Coroner, released in 1993. It was the band's final album before their fourteen-year break up from 1996 to 2010 (although their compilation album, 1995's Coroner featured several new tracks).

Coroner's last full-length is a surprisingly considered and slower album that grooves far more than it thrashes, and since the band started by playing speedy, blazing metal it's a little strange to hear them actually relax a little. It's a logical step from the past two albums, which found the band exploring and experimenting with their sound more and adding more room to their compositions. CORONER Grin 4K/UHD 58:19. Coroner is the penultimate release by the Swiss thrash metal band Coroner. It is technically a compilation album, although it features new material as well as selected songs from the band's previous albums. It is also regarded as their final album, even though it was succeeded by a final compilation of unreleased material in 1996, titled The Unknown Unreleased Tracks 1985-95.

Grin (Coroner album). Grin is the fifth studio album by the Swiss thrash metal band Coroner, and was followed by their self-titled compilation album, Coroner. It is the result of the progression of their sound from previous albums, mixed with a more "laidback" and experimental style which features a lot of repetition and longer song lengths, as well as use of ambience and samples in some tracks. The album split the band's fanbase - some thought it was their crowning achievement, and the pinnacle of their songwriting, while others accused them of "selling out".

About the time Coroner released their 5th album Grin, there was a noticeable pox upon thrash metal. Almost all of its better acts on both sides of the pond were suffering identity crises, compensating with often empty externalizations into new sounds. Always have Coroner been a bit adventurous and Grin finds the band moving beyond the trappings of thrash to the oft-travelled, but rarely mastered, post-thrash road. When writing the album, Vetterli has clearly taken a step back, looked at his old albums and thought: "These are good, but the next one, it should be clearly different. And it is, quite vastly.

CORONER Grin GREEN VINYL. More info: Formed in Zurich, Switzerland in 1983, Coroner were originally roadies for fellow Swiss avant garde thrashers, Celtic Frost. In fact, Frost frontman Tom G Warrior sang vocals on the bands demo, ‘Death Cult’. Signing to Germany’s Noise Records in 1987 the band produced five albums for the label over the next nine.

Am I the only one annoyed by this remaster? The hi-hat is too tinny and it basically sounds like ass.

rose1978 You can buy the original with 200-250 euro & after the hi hat will sound better...:-) lol what kind of reply is that? Just because its cheaper garbage doesn't justify the fact that its still garbage, I'll stick to my original CD thank you very much :^)

So glad their albums are being reissued! A fantastic pressing, killer album. Product like this is what makes buying "physical" music in 2018 so enjoyable. Smiles, smiles smiles!!

Another awesome remaster of an awesome album from Noise ( after Kreator-Renewal and Skyclad-Prince of the poverty line ).

Just got mine at the record store, awesome! Didn’t even know that “Grin” and “Mental Vortex” had just been reissued on vinyl until I stumbled upon them in the C vinyls in the Metal section. Grabbed them both of course, so glad I had the money on me and that I found them. These Noise reissues are really good just like the Voivod and Tankard vinyls they released last year. So happy to finally own 2 classic Coroner albums on vinyl finally!

Sounds absolutely massive, just exploding out of my speakers. Everything is crisp and clear. A great reissue in my opinion.

I started my collection 4 years ago, after thinking about it for nearly 10 years now, and first thing I wanted was Coroner albums to be available on vinyl once again... Especially this album. It's like a page of my life is about to be turned for good. So glad right now, I hope the final product will be as good as possible.
