John Carpenter - The Fog - test pressing album
John Howard Carpenter (born January 16, 1948) is an American filmmaker, screenwriter and composer. Although Carpenter has worked with various movie genres, he is associated most commonly with horror, action, and science fiction films of the 1970s and 1980s. Most films of Carpenter's career were initially commercial and critical failures, with the notable exceptions of Halloween (1978), The Fog (1980), Escape from New York (1981), and Starman (1984).
The Fog. 2012, CD (disc one - the 2000 remixed soundtrack album, disc two - the original 1980 score cues). John Carpenter, Alan Howarth. Vinyl (LP, Reissue, Test Pressing, White Label, Black Vinyl).
John Carpenter:the Fog . .has been added to your Cart. The price is good, it's a double disc set preserving the original mix of the OST released in 2000 while presenting it along with a second disc of that same material along with expanded cues and tracks. While the completely new material only adds up to about 20 minutes, it's 20 minutes of pure atmosphere sorely lacking from the original. Oddly, the album version of the score works better than the original score tracks. Both have their chilling moments, and it may be the familiarity of the album tracks that tip the scale. But the entire set is a winner and a must have for any fan or horror movie music.
