Lymphoma, Digestive Mucosa Reflux - Lymphoma / Digestive Mucosa Reflux album
MALT lymphoma (MALToma) is a form of lymphoma involving the mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT), frequently of the stomach, but virtually any mucosal site can be afflicted. It is a cancer originating from B cells in the marginal zone of the MALT, and is also called extranodal marginal zone B cell lymphoma. MALT lymphoma is an often multifocal disease in the organ of origin and is frequently macroscopically indistinguishable from other disease processes in the GI tract
MALT lymphoma is a subtype of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with it's own specific pathology. More about Mucosa-associated Lymphoid Tissue (MALT) Lymphoma. Specific types of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma. Gastric MALT lymphoma. Associated with: H. pylori infection. Presenting features: dyspepsia, epigastric discomfort, gastric bleeding. Systemic symptoms (night sweats, weight loss, fever, lethargy) and bone marrow involvement are less common. Most are localised to the stomach at presentation. Diagnosis: endoscopy and gastric biopsy.

Mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The staging of it assesses the level of spread (I–IV), and the presence of systemic symptoms: (A) absent and (B) any of the following: fever lasting 1–2 weeks, weight loss, perspiration (E) tumor located in an organ or tissue which does not form part of the lymphatic system (S) tumor in the spleen. majority are associated with heliobacter pylori gastroesophageal reflux. The etiology of this type of lymphoma relates to a background of chronic inflammatory disease or autoimmune disease; for this reason, MALT lymphoma is associated with Sjögren's syndrome, systemic lupus and particularly erythematosus, Hashimoto thyroidisis, and gastritis associated with H. pylori.
Differential diagnosis includes constrictive pericarditis, intestinal lymphoma, Whipple's disease, Crohn's disease, intestinal tuberculosis, sarcoidosis or systemic sclerosis. Several B-cell lymphomas confined to the gastrointestinal tract (stomach, jejunum, midgut, ileum) or with extra-intestinal localizations were reported in PIL patients. Moderate or discontinuous diarrhea is the main digestive symptom. An abdominal mass was found in the epigastrium and right upper quadrant of a 12-year-old girl. Ultrasonography failed to confirm an abdominal mass but the mass was attributed to small bowel edema Chylous reflux into the skin of the right flank resembles lymphangioma circumscriptum with multiple dome-shaped vesicles filled with milky-white fluid, which is discharged into the surrounding skin. Chyle can also backflow into the skin of the lower limb, perineum or external genitalia.
Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) Backflow of stomach fluids to the laryngopharynx (voice box + lower back of throat). Esophagus or Food Pipe Muscular tube that connects throat to stomach; actively moves swallowed food/drinks into the stomach. Reflux Backflow of stomach fluids which contain acid and enzymes. Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) Backflow of stomach fluids into the esophagus; associated with heartburn. Reflux laryngitis can present. A Different Puzzle Some patients with reflux laryngitis do experience heartburn (a burning sensation in the chest that is not due to a heart problem but due to irritation and/or inflammation of the esophagus or esophagitis).
Silent reflux is stomach acid rising into the esophagus and vocal chords that may cause irritation or a burning sensation behind the breastbone or in the middle of the trunk. Many people with the condition also experience hoarseness and coughing. Read on to learn about causes, symptoms, and remedies for silent reflux. What is silent reflux and what can I do about it? Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphatic system that begins in cells which are part of the body's immune system. The knowledge of which type of lymphoma you have is crucial because it affects both treatment options and prognosis. These are two different diseases. Even though they are very similar in many ways, treatment protocols for them do have differences. The two main types of lymphoma:, Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) is cancer that begins in the lymphocytes (white blood cells), which are part of the immune system.
