Loving The Alien (1983 - 1988). Welcome To The Blackout.

David Bowie is the self-titled debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records. Its style and content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that he was later known for, such as the folk rock influenced "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.

David Bowie is the second studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released under that title by Philips in the UK, and as Man of Words/Man of Music by Mercury in the US, on 14 November 1969. It was reissued in 1972 by RCA Records as Space Oddity (the title of the opening track, which had reached No. 5 in the UK Singles Chart). Space Oddity was the name used for CD releases of the album in 1984, 1990 and 1999, but it reverted to the original, eponymous title for 2009 and 2015 reissues.

David said it’d take 25 years before people came around to Tin Machine, says Reeves Gabrels. I remember he used to have the Low rejection letter from RCA framed on his wall at his home in Switzerland. They’d sent that to him before it came out, so he’d been through the same thing before.

David Bowie was released in the UK, in both mono and stereo, on 1 June 1967, the same date as the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, on Deram Records. The album was commercially and critically unsuccessful, and eventually cost him his contract at Deram records. Bowie, seemingly embarrassed by it, had tried to write the record out of his history (selections from it never turn up on career anthologies, though that may be in part due to rights issues). David Bowie Q&A. Producer Mike Vernon.

Producers: David Bowie, Ken Scott. Highlights: The Jean Genie, Drive-In Saturday, Time, Let’s Spend the Night Together. Covers of 1960s British classics. Bowie reportedly had planned to do a similar album of American covers, but never got around to it. Producers: Ken Scott, David Bowie. Highlights: Sorrow, See Emily Play, Rosalyn, Friday On My Mind. Thematically, this glam classic was heavily influenced by George Orwell’s 1984. Producer: David Bowie. Highlights: Rebel Rebel, Diamond Dogs, 1984, Sweet Thing.

Bowie was my very first rock star crush and the first album I ever bought was Hunky Dory. I was in 4th grade, 1982. I have been in love with him and his music ever since. Ответить Показать 4 ответа Уведомить меня 8 Helpful.
