Dick Jurgens - Here's That Band Again - Dick Jurgens Plays His Hits album
This collection of Dick Jurgens' classic Vocalion and OKeh sides is well worth a listen, even by those who don't have a lot of appreciation of "sweet" bands; as with the best of the latter, the musicianship is impeccable and the band could get into a slightly swinging mode in its looser, more daring moments. The seemingly sappy, overly sentimental opening numbers from the end of the 1930s give way to slightly tighter and snappier pieces that can just about hold their own with the best of Glen Gray or Bob Crosby's bands of the same era.

Jurgens, a veteran writer who’s redefined multiple DC characters in his career, is taking over Nightwing with this week’s issue working with series artist Christopher Mooneyham. As Jurgens takes over the title, the title character has lost the majority of his memories since the death of his parents, meaning his years as Robin and Nightwing have been almost completely erased. After recovering physically and learning that his vigilante life almost got him killed, he started a new life as in Blüdhaven without his Bat-family and without the costume.
This audio only interview was conducted for a radio program by Dan Del Fiorentino and donated to the NAMM Oral History program: Dick Jurgens formed a popular dance band during the big band era and enjoyed a string of hit recordings, several which he composed. The ever-humble songwriter and musician, Dick rarely bragged about the success of his dance band, the sellout crowds, and the long engagements at some of the country's top ballrooms. He did however, like to boast that Eddie Howard, one of the great singers of the era, got his start in Dick's band.
In 1977, he invited The Supremes to appear as guests on his televised and recorded gala concert In 1979, he released a disco album entitled Udo '80. It produced a hit song "Ich weiß was ich will"
