Gratitude is a double album by the band Earth, Wind & Fire issued in November 1975 by Columbia Records. The album rose to No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Billboard Top Soul Albums charts. Gratitude has also been certified Triple Platinum in the US by the RIAA. Gratitude spent six weeks atop the Billboard Top Soul Albums chart and three weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart. The LP consists of mostly live concert material together with some newly recorded tracks
Faces is the tenth studio album by the R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire released on October 14, 1980 on ARC/Columbia Records. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard Top LPs chart, number 10 on the Billboard Top Soul albums chart and number 10 on the UK Albums chart. Faces was certified Gold in the US by the RIAA. Faces was partly recorded in the Caribbean island of Montserrat and produced by EWF leader Maurice White. Artists such as Fred Wesley and Toto's Steve Lukather guested on the album.
The bands self-titled debut album, Earth, Wind, & Fire, was released in February 1971 to critical acclaim, as was November 1971s The Need of Love. Both albums were produced by Joe Wissert and a single, from The Need of Love called I Think About Lovin You, with Sherry Scott on lead vocals, in 1971, the group also recorded the soundtrack of the Melvin Van Peebles film Sweet Sweetbacks Baadasssss Song. Outside of Earth, Wind & Fire, Baileys most successful song is a duet with his friend Phil Collins called Easy Lover which was included on his solo album Chinese Wall. The album was produced by Collins, and both the album and single were released in 1984 on Columbia Records. While Bailey had a number of hits with Earth, Wind & Fire, in 1980, Bailey joined with friends, Deniece Williams, Billy Davis and Marilyn McCoo to present a gospel show at a popular Los Angeles club named The Roxy.
