Meet the Beatles! is the second Beatles album released in the United States. It topped the popular album chart on 15 February 1964 and remained at number one for eleven weeks before being replaced by The Beatles' Second Album.
The Beatles released 13 albums during their seven-year recording career. And almost every single one of them is a masterpiece. It helped that the group came of age during one the most fertile periods for music in the past couple hundred years. It also helped that the band included two of the best songwriters of the 20th century – and a third who wasn't too bad either. So what we're basically saying is, you really can't go wrong with any of the Beatles' albums (well, maybe one or two.
We are aiming to complete these over the coming months, along with pages on The Beatles' US releases.
Help! is The Beatles' fifth studio album and the soundtrack to their second feature length film. The 14-track record includes 10 Lennon-McCartney numbers, 2 from George, and 2 covers ( Act Naturally and Dizzy Miss Lizzy ) – a steady improvement from the cover-padded Beatles For Sale. Starting with the title song, the album offers moments of compositional and lyrically foreshadowing into a much more sophisticated and adventurous musical territory, which the group immediately began exploring with Rubber Soul
Big selling albums were usually by artists such as Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra as well as the Sing Along With Mitch albums.
