Lyrics for Toe Tappin' Music by The Flying Burrito Brothers . honey it ain't raining no more Lord, I don't mind being comfort when the weather gets too bad But it's matrimony scares me so Give me toe tapping, foot stomping, beer drinking songs With a slight touch of the blues and some crying I hear that doo, doo, doo, doop that's the music I like That's the kind.
At the time of this recording, the Don Fleury Band had been in existence for over 25 years. Don started playing as a teenager with his father Ed, who played the guitar and banjo, at taverns, weddings and other such events. Later, Dick Chewning joined them as a trio. Dick was one the first to play electric bass guitar in the local area. As time went on, the group expanded to a foursome, and even to five or six as needed. The above quartet mentioned on this LP has been playing together for over five years.
Fleury, known predominantly around these parts for his stint as the sparkplug, No. 14 on the Stanley Cup-winning Calgary Flames and then his after-sporting life as an author and motivational speaker, is sitting down to chat about his new career, that of singer-songwriter. One of the songs on the album happens to also be an over-riding theme on the record: My Life’s Been A Country Song. They don’t want to live in- He pauses. I think we spend too much time living in our past, I think we spend too much time living in our trauma, and there’s really no need for it once you get it out there. That for me was probably the biggest lightbulb moment that I had is: Why the f-k was I carrying around this s-t for so long when I could have maybe resolved it sooner?
