About Different Class. This is the fifth album by Pulp. It was released in 1995, in the cusp of the Britpop movement, this transformed them into an essential part of the musical scene back then. This record had a great reception by critics, when it was released and it has grown to be recognized not only as one of the most iconic albums of britpop, but as one of the best albums ever released. Different Class was awarded with the Mercury Music Prize in 1996. The album has a sleeve note which explains the title rather well : ‘Please understand – we don’t want no trouble.

Different Class" is true class material, Pulp spreading their wings and finally get the recognition they deserved ever since that funny little 1983 bastard-child of a band. This is way more progressive alternative rock - and despite its retro-leanings, Pulp made a solid monument - in all of its voyeuristic beauty. Reply Notify me 1 Helpful. A brilliant album and one that not only captured Pulp at their absolute peak but is also one of the most important recordings ever submitted to wax in British music history

Different Class is an album by English Britpop band Pulp. It was released in 1995 at the height of Britpop, and led to the band being regarded as part of that movement. Two of the singles on the album – "Common People" (which reached number two in the UK singles chart) and "Disco 2000" (which reached number seven) – were especially notable, and helped propel Pulp to nationwide fame. Album · 1995 · 12 Songs. After 18 years of waiting, Pulp were finally in the right place at the right time when they released Different Class. The motorik-disco class fable Common People is probably the greatest . No. 2 single since Strawberry Fields Forever. And yet the album fulfilled all the promise of that hit-a consistently strong LP where losers are draped in victory flags ( Mis-Shapes, Disco 2000 ) and Jarvis Cocker’s lyrics pull back the yellowing curtains of suburban Britain. Different Class Pulp.

10. Disco 2000 (Nick Cave Pub Rock Version). 11. Common People (Vocoda Mix). Other productions from Pulp.
